  • NAO-2023-02178 / 24-V2468 (Berkshire Green) - Chesapeake, VA

    Expiration date: 12/6/2024

    The applicant is proposing to construct a single-family residential development consisting of approximately 47 lots with interior roads, site utilities, and stormwater management practices. As proposed, the project will permanently impact a total of 2.86 acres of palustrine forested (PFO) wetlands, and 0.04 acre of palustrine unconsolidated bottom (PUB) tributary. The proposed impacts will result from grading and fill associated with the construction of the planned residential housing, interior roads throughout the development, site utilities, and stormwater management infrastructure. The purpose of the project is to construct single-family residential homes in a highly desirable area of Chesapeake, Virginia. The need for the project is to provide single-family residential housing in a desirable area that has a shortfall of new available housing.

  • NAO-2020-00850 (Leesville Hydroeletric Plant, Gretna, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 10/20/2024

    As part of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license for Appalachian Power Company's (APCo) Smith Mountain Hydroelectric Project, APCo has a debris management plan that is part of its FERC license requirements that assigns certain responsibilities for management, collection, and removal of debris from the Smith Mountain Project including Leesville Reservoir. The proposed project seeks to fulfill that responsibility by constructing a floating boom system to manage debris more efficiently. The debris being transported into Leesville reservoir from the Pigg River is estimated to be 65-75% of the debris load entering the reservoir.

  • NAO-2007-01382 (Opequon Crossing, Frederick County, Virginia)

    D.R. Horton, Inc. has proposed to construct Phase 2 and Phase 3 of a housing development known as Opequon Crossing. The proposed project would include 272 single-family detached homes, 127 townhomes, and associated infrastructure. Comments should be received by the close of business on June 1, 2024.

  • NAO-2022-01616 (Grayson Commons Project, Chesapeake, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 5/15/2024

    The applicant is proposing to construct a multi-family residential development with six (6) apartment complexes, 106 townhomes, a clubhouse, a utilities building, parking and internal roadways, three (3) stormwater ponds, and a commercial site. The proposed development will include a residential neighborhood, known as Grayson Commons, with a commercial retail portion. As proposed, the project will permanently impact a total of 1.77 acres of palustrine forested (PFO) wetlands and 0.22 acre of palustrine unconsolidated bottom (PUB) tributary. The proposed impacts will result from grading and fill associated within the construction of the planned residential and commercial development, access roads through the property, stormwater management infrastructure, and utilities. The purpose of the project is to construct and provide residential housing within southern Chesapeake. Public comments should be received by the close of business on May 15, 2024.

  • NAO-2023-00311 (I-64 Gap A, New Kent County, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 5/9/2024

    Construction of additional travel lanes along I-64 in the first of three “Gap” segments that will adjoin segments of I-64 that have a minimum of six travel lanes. The proposed addition of a third travel lane in each direction will increase connectivity between Richmond and Hampton Roads. Public comments should be received by the close of business on May 9, 2024.
