  • Update to the Tidewater and Standard Joint Permit Applications

    The Norfolk District announces minor revisions to the Joint Permit Application (JPA) associated with the issuance of the 2023 State Programmatic General Permit for piers, aquaculture, shoreline, dredging, and other activities (23-SPGP-PASDO), effective September 1, 2023.

  • NAO-2022-00773: Proposed Reissuance Norfolk District Regional Permit 20

    Expiration date: 8/30/2022

    The Norfolk District proposes the reissuance of Regional Permit 20 (RP-20), scheduled to expire on October 15, 2022. RP-20 authorizes the creation of artificial reefs (oyster and fish haven) and dredging of old shellfish reefs, when the material, dredge shell or structural, will be used to create new or enhance existing natural or artificial reefs owned, operated or managed by the Commonwealth of Virginia by the Virginia Marine Resource Commission (VMRC).

    Langley Air Force Base proposes to construct in the same vicinity of an existing fuel pier, a new fuel pier facility that will include about 65,000 cubic yards of dredging, with the dredged material to be transported and discharged at the Norfolk Ocean Disposal Site (NODS).

    Expiration date: 6/13/2014

    Hanover County C/O Joe Vidunas proposes to construct a connector road from the western terminus of Atlee Road to Atlee Station Road. The new road would also have a turn lane to the north that connects to Cool Springs Road. The proposed road would be elevated to pass over the existing CSX Railroad track. Construction would see impacts of 0.48 acre of forested wetland, 286 linear feet of stream channel and temporary impacts to 20 linear feet of stream.
