    On March 29, 2021, the United States (U.S.) Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Huntington, Pittsburgh, and Norfolk Districts (collectively the Districts) issued joint Public Notices LRH-2015-00592-GBR, LRP-2015-798, and NAO-2015-0898 announcing the application for a Department of the Army (DA) Permit under the provisions of Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (Section 10) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (Section 404) for the proposed discharge of dredged and/or fill material into waters of the U.S. and work in and under navigable waters of the U.S.

    Waste Management of Virginia, Inc. is proposing an undertaking to construct 16 new landfill cells at the existing Charles City Landfill. The project site is located within the St. Mary’s Church Battlefield a historic property potentially eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. In compliance with regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Norfolk District is soliciting comments on the proposed project from the public; Federal, state, and local agencies and officials; Native American Tribes; and other interested parties. This public notice provides an opportunity for members of the public to express their views on the undertaking’s effects on historic properties and resolution of adverse effects.

  • NAO-2011-00400 (Colonial National Historic Park, Yorktown, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 1/5/2023

    The National Park Service proposes to stabilize approximately 3200 linear feet of eroding shoreline by integrating a living shoreline design with stone sills and marsh creation, stone spurs, and reinforcing existing revetments for the purpose of protecting Colonial Parkway and known cultural resources, protecting and enhancing marsh and beach shoreline habitat, and improving water quality by reducing sediment loads into the York River.

  • NAO2018-02108 (Commons Road (SR606), King William, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 12/23/2022

    Kennington Place, LLC proposes to construct Section 2B of a residential development. The project would include the construction of 60 lots, roads, and associated utilities. The Corps has determined that the proposed federal action would result in an adverse effect on site 44KW0334.
