Fort Norfolk to temporarily close to visitors

NORFOLK – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close Fort Norfolk to visitors tomorrow through June 19.

Contractors are install a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit at the Waterfield Building at Fort Norfolk during this time, and crane operations require a construction barricade at the fort.

Due to the installation, Fort Norfolk will not be open to visitors who wish to observe the Parade of Sail Friday or Harborfest fireworks Saturday from the grounds of the fort.

Fort Norfolk will reopen to visitors at 9 a.m. June 20.
