Currently The Norfolk District Is Engaged In The Following Projects at Fort Lee

FY05 Design/Construct Barracks Upgrade
Ft Lee
Project Manager: Suzanne Spence, PE

This $7.8M OMA project awarded to Alutiiq, LLC includes design and construction to renovate/upgrade existing buildings 4229, 9000, and 9003. Work includes demolition, architectural upgrades, and minimum plumbing, electrical, and mechanical upgrades. Buildings will have the capacity to house two occupants for each room (Bldgs 4229, 9000, and 9003) and four occupants in each suite (4229 only). The project is estimated to be complete in May 2006.

FY04 Family Housing Replacement, Madison Park

Project Manager: Suzanne Spence, PE

This $16M AFN project awarded to Hunt Building Company includes design and constructing Phase 1 of a two-phase program to replace 292 existing family housing units at Ft Lee contained in the community of Madison Park with 220 units of new family housing. The project is estimated to be complete in June 2006.


FY05 Family Housing Replacement, Jefferson Terrace

Project Manager: Suzanne Spence, PE

This $41M AFN project awarded to Hunt Building Company includes design and construction of 218 junior and senior enlisted family quarters, consisting of 45 JNCO units and 173 SNCO units to replace 298 family housing units in the Jefferson Terrace and Madison Park housing areas that will be demolished. The project is estimated to be complete in July 2008.

FY03 Fire and Emergency Services, Ph I
Ft Lee
Project Manager: Suzanne Spence, PE

This $4.25M MCA project awarded to James N. Gray Construction includes design and construction of phase one of a Fire and Emergency Services Center consisting of three bays, two vehicles deep, drive-thru, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Headquarters. The 13,325-square-foot facility will include vehicle bays, sleeping/living quarters, administrative and support areas. The project is estimated to be complete in July 2006.


FY04 Roadway Improvements – Sisisky Boulevard (Fire and Emergency Services, Ph II)
Ft Lee
Project Manager: Suzanne Spence, PE

This MCA project includes the construction of roadway improvements to Sisisky Boulevard that are required to allow proper access for the Fire and Emergency Services Center vehicles on the Garrison. The project includes safe traffic flow, new turn lanes, and traffic signalization. The project was advertised in FY05 but not awarded. An amendment is currently being developed. Award is anticipated in June 2006.


FY05 Fire and Emergency Services, Ph III
Ft Lee
Project Manager: Suzanne Spence, PE

This $4.68M MCA project awarded to Purcell Construction includes design and construction of phase two of the three-company headquarters fire station including 5 drive-thru apparatus bays, two vehicles deep. Project includes sleeping quarters, toilets with showers for males and females, and a laundry for Fire and Emergency Services personnel working 24-hour shifts. Apparatus bays will accommodate the length of a ladder truck. This project is estimated to be complete in July 2007.


FY06 Group Operations Complex
Ft Lee
Project Manager: Suzanne Spence, PE

This MCA project includes the design and construction of a 28,000-square-foot storage facility for the 49th Group Operations including all utilities, parking, and restrooms. Construction award is estimated for July 2006.
