    Mitchell Carr proposes to place a cable across a portion of the James River in order to assist in getting logs from Buford Island to the shore for a logging operation. The cable will be sunk when not in use. The project is to last approximately 10 days and will be removed when complete. Public comment period ends Nov. 28, 2015.

    This public notice is being issued in accordance with Section 103 of the Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act (MPRSA), for the planned transport and disposal of dredged material that will result from the proposed construction of a new two-lane parallel tunnel to the west of the existing Chesapeake Bay-Bridge Tunnel. Approximately 1.7 million cubic yards of dredged material from the project that meets Section 103 evaluation criteria is being proposed for disposal at the Norfolk Ocean Disposal Site. Comment period ends Nov. 27, 2015.

For the 2012 NWPs, ESA Section 7 compliance is covered by NWP General Condition 18.

After careful consideration we have determined a public hearing may yield information that would better inform our decision in this matter.
