FEDERAL PUBLIC NOTICE

Norfolk District Regulatory Operations IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Please be advised that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District Regulatory Branch remains largely operational. However, some functions may be impacted our COVID-19 response measures.

All of our physical office locations are closed to the public until further notice. During this time, Regulatory staff will be working remotely. All meetings will be conducted virtually if at all possible, and field work will be limited. We strongly encourage full utilization of virtual alternatives. All staff remains available as normal by e-mail and phone. A list of contact information can be found here https://www.nao.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/Contacts.aspx. We are not staffing the "Regulator of the Day" phone line until further notice. However, you may still submit general requests and questions through the Regulator of the Day e-mail box at CENAO.REG_ROD@usace.army.mil.

Our staff will be working diligently to process current actions and new submittals electronically. Joint Permit Applications (JPA) and supporting materials can be submitted normally through the Virginia Marine Resources Commission website at JPA.permits@mrc.virginia.gov?subject=Joint%20Permit%20Application. When a new application is received, you will be notified who your project manager is and given their e-mail address. Questions regarding active projects should be directed via e-mail to the Regulatory Project Manager assigned your action. Please note, our ability to receive, process, and distribute hardcopy mail and documents is diminished; all correspondence conducted in this manner may be delayed.

Our goal is to remain responsive to the public, while fully complying with responsible COVID-19 mitigating protocols. We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue to adjust our systems and practices to adapt to this unique and changing situation.
