Mr. William A. Sorrentino, Jr., is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He attended Pennsylvania State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1977.  Subsequently, he has done postgraduate engineering work at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia; is a graduate of the Gallup Leadership Institute, the Federal Executive Institute and is also a graduate of the Army Management Staff College.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

 

Mr. Sorrentino has served the Government for 25 years beginning his service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1977.  He has served in various positions in the Corps, which includes structural design, project management, construction management and operations management, both in line and staff positions.

 

Mr. Sorrentino is currently serving as the Chief, Technical Services Division at the Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District.  In this position, he has responsibility to manage and lead the district’s largest division which includes, Planning, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Regulatory, Real Estate and Emergency Readiness.  He serves as a principle advisor and consultant to the Commander on technical and key matters.

 

Mr. Sorrentino is a sought after national speaker with the Corps of Engineers and is a member of the Department of the Army, Engineers and Scientists Career Program Board. He is an active community member, a national PTA lifetime member and a 3rd degree black belt instructor in Tae-Kwon–Do.
